Pedro Sobral is Associate Professor at University Fernando Pessoa (UFP), where he is responsible for the Computer Architecture, Computer Networks and Operating Systems courses. He holds a PhD in Telecommunications from New University of Lisbon, Portugal in 2008. He completed his MSc in 1996 (major telecommunications) in Electrical and Computers Engineering from Faculty of Engineering Oporto University (FEUP), Portugal and graduated in 1993 in Computer Science from Faculty of Sciences Oporto University. Prof. Pedro Sobral was a researcher at the Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering (INESC-TEC), Porto, Portugal, between 1994 and 2016. He is co-founder and researcher at the ISUS (Intelligent Sensing and Ubiquitous Systems) unit at UFP since 2007 and a researcher collaborator at LIACC (Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science). His main current research topics of interest include Smart Spaces, Ambient Assisted Living, Intelligent Sensors and Wireless Sensor Networks.
