ASAE is implementing one of four projects (pilot) in areas of particular interest to society, to be promoted within the scope of the “National Initiative for Digital Skills e.2030 – INCoDe.2030, (INCoDe.2030)”, with regard to the promotion of the application of Data Science in Public Administration through the establishment of partnerships between Public Administration entities and Research and Development units. This project, along with the other three, was identified by the Offices of the Minister for the Presidency and Administrative Modernization and the Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education, in close collaboration with the coordination of the Portugal INCoDe.2030 Initiative, the Agency for Administrative Modernization (AMA) and the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P. (FCT, I. P.), so that it can function as a Partnership Model, thus contributing to the promotion of new collaborations between the Public Administration and the R&D Units. The project aims to promote food safety and public health, consumer protection and safeguard market rules and free competition between economic operators through the development of risk analysis models and the selection of economic agents to be monitored, based on the most recent Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computational Learning techniques and in the databases available and to be developed at ASAE. In terms of the methodologies to be implemented, it is intended to use techniques of information fusion and extraction, computer learning, optimization, data and text mining (data & text mining), design of optimization algorithms and generation of Routes/Plans and definition of intelligent information visualization methods. Application of continuous learning techniques of the system with inputs for continuous improvement of its operation. In this context, the project results from a partnership between ASAE and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) through the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science (LIACC), with a work plan for a period of 18 months.
