Paula Alexandra Rego is an Adjunct Professor at Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (IPVC),Viana do Castelo, Portugal. She received her Informatics and Systems Engineering degree in 1994, a MSc degree on Informatics in 2003 and concluded a graduate specialization in Computer Graphics and Virtual Environments in 2004, all from University of Minho, Braga, Portugal, and in 2017 she completed her Ph.D. degree in Informatics Engineering (Serious Games for Health Rehabilitation) at the University of Porto, Portugal. During the 2007–2012 period, she was the Course Coordinator of the Technology Certificate/Diploma on Development of Multimedia Products. She conducts her research at the Human-Machine Intelligent Cooperation group of the Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science Lab at the University of Porto (LIACC) and at the Applied Research Center for Digital Transformation (ARC4DigiT) at the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo. Her main research interests lie in Serious Games and Natural User Interfaces for the Rehabilitation domain of application. She authored or coauthored several conference papers, book chapters and journal articles that focus Serious Games for health rehabilitation domain and natural and multimodal interfaces.
